Digital India is now giving helping hands to the mission of “Swachh Bharat” with the objective of including India into the list of clean countries across the world. Mr. Mahesh Sharma has initiatively taken a step ahead towards Swatch Bharat mission by launching a mobile app namely Swachh Paryatan App. This Mobile App will allow travelers to click and send snap of dirty spots at tourist places to the authorities for “immediate action” as part of Clean India Mission.

Let’s talk in detail.
The ‘Swachh Paryatan Mobile App’, is launched in order to clean India in a better way. This not only helps in identifying the dirty spots and make them clean but it also encourages citizens to get digitalized. We can say Two birds one stone!
Currently 25 heritage monuments are listed in the app, including Taj Mahal, Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and Humayun’s Tomb and then some. The tourism department is expected to extend the App by listing other tourist hubs across the entire country within the Mobile App. Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said at the time of App launching function: “People can send the picture of dirty places on which immediate action will be taken. Besides, people can also send their suggestions in bringing improvement at the tourist places,”
He also addressed that nodal officers have been appointed to take instant actions required to clean up the place shared by the tourists via ‘Swachh Paryatan Mobile App’.
Initially available on Google play store for android OS phones, however, it will be available soon on Apple and Microsoft too. This mobile app shall be monitored by the project monitoring unit of Swachh Bharat Mission in Ministry of Tourism, an official statement said.
Mr Mahesh Sharma also highlights ‘Infoline’ toll-free Infoline service, available in 12 languages. The 24-hour multi-language information service. Launched by his ministry early this month has got a good response, received almost 11,800 calls per day.
The toll-free Infoline service, available in 12 languages including English and Hindi, provides information relating to travel and tourism in India to domestic and international tourists/visitors. It also assists the tourists with guidance on what action to be taken during times of any mishap while travelling in the country.
